Training Journalists for the Tunisian Elections Coverage 2024

Arabi Facts Hub (AFH) conducted a training workshop for Tunisian journalists on verifying information related to the 2024 Tunisian presidential elections.

Held from July 29 to August 11, 2024. In partnership with BN Tunisia Check, Digital Action, and She checks, the workshop featured expert-led sessions on countering election-related disinformation, methodologies and tools for verifying social media content, investigating coordinated campaigns, fact-checking official statements, and analyzing funded ads.

Arabi Facts Hub (AFH), in partnership with Digital Action, held a fact-checking and disinformation detection training for Jordanian journalists from August 25-29, 2024.

Expert-led sessions covered disinformation detection on social media, understanding digital harms, and using tools for data and statement verification. The training enhanced skills in combating disinformation with advanced digital and AI tools.

Arabi Facts Hub (AFH), in partnership with The Checker platform, conducted training for journalists in the Kurdistan Region from August 25-29, 2024. on fact-checking and disinformation detection.

Expert trainers guided participants on identifying social media disinformation, understanding digital harms, preemptive fact-checking, and verifying data and ads. Expert trainers covered social media disinformation, political statement verification, digital ad analysis, and creative visualization. The training aimed to boost skills in combating disinformation and producing engaging, story-driven reports for audiences.

Call for Contributors on Disinformation and Misinformation in the Arab World

 

The Arabi Facts Hub (AFH), in collaboration with the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy (TIMEP), is pleased to announce a call for contributors, including journalists, policy analysts, and academics, to write analysis pieces on the topic of Disinformation and Misinformation in the Arab World.

Articles for this special project should be between 2,000-2,500 words long and cover one of the following themes in Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, or Yemen.
